The following is a summary describing BugHotel Reservation System NextGen Credit Card Processing Flow:

The way BugHotel Reservation System NextGen works is up to you and it's 100% configurable. The following scenarios are available:

  • Charge 100% of reservation via credit card or echeck

  • Charge service charge via credit card or echeck (Usually a static fee or a % that reverts o the travel portal)

  • Deposit amount or % of the total reservation (Used to secure the reservation and usually the remaining is charged when the customer arrives to the hotel or X days prior to arrive (The number of days is also configured and it can be automated or manually))

  • Do an AVS and Credit Card Check and Pre-Authorize the card but not actually charge. The money is placed on "hold" by the bank but the customer does not get charged until an action is triggered.

  • Do an AVS and Credit Card Check but don't charge or authorize the credit card (In this scenario we check if the card is valid but don't charge anything)


    • No matter what scenario the system is configured to use, BugHotel Reservation System NextGen Edition can also be configured to store or not to store credit card information (encrypted) in the database for future processing or use (for example process the credit card manually in a off-line terminal)
